The Family Service Center offers resiliency building to teens

The Family Service Center offers a 12-week course for students in grades six through eight who want to develop their resilience skills.

The Resilience Builder Program will be held from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Tuesdays March 1-May 24 (no session March 22) at the Family Service Center, 191 Waukegan Road, Suite 206, Northfield. Sessions can take place virtually if necessary due to the COVID pandemic.

The program is led by certified clinicians trained in resilience building leadership. They will provide strategies for coping well with life’s challenges, especially in response to the pandemic.

Limited to six participants, the group format will help students develop social skills and self-regulation skills. Parent sessions are built into the program once or twice to generalize how these skills are used in the real world.

Program scholarships are available to eligible residents of Glenview and Northbrook due to the support of each of the villages.
