WILKES-BARRE – Sean Gerow, MS, a strategic leader with over 25 years of experience in financial management, nonprofit leadership and workforce development, has been appointed General Manager of the Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania (FSA).
Gerow takes office on October 4.
Gerow joined the FSA after serving more than two years as executive director of the Jewish Family Service in Orange County, New York, and providing consulting services to regional nonprofit agencies. His experience includes the areas of long-term care, intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health care, risk and liability, organizational leadership and quality improvement.

At the Jewish Family Service, he developed and implemented the agency’s annual budget as well as marketing and fundraising plans, which included human resource management and grant writing, monitoring and reporting.

Gerow holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York, New Paltz College, and a Master of Science in Health Care Management from the New School for Social Research.
As CEO of FSA, Gerow will develop and administer all activities of the 13 health and social service programs offered in 17 counties in northeastern and north-central Pennsylvania. He will be responsible for the direction, leadership and coordination of all agency activities to ensure maximum benefit for clients and the community at large. Gerow will plan and coordinate the long-term strategic planning process and maintain fiscal and budget planning for the agency’s programs and operations.
In August, Creative Benefits Inc. announced that former FSA President / CEO Gertrude C. McGowan, Esq. had been appointed a benefits consultant.
McGowan had been CEO of FSA since 2019.
