Redlands Hunger Walk will raise funds for the Family Service Association of Redlands – Redlands Daily Facts

The Redlands Family Services Association will be holding its eighth annual Redlands Hunger Walk on June 4 at the University of Redlands campus.

The event, a fundraiser for the Family Service Association’s breakfast program and pantry, begins at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast served by the Redlands Noon Kiwanis Club.

The 3 mile walk around the University of Redlands campus begins at 8 a.m. and the Citrus Valley High School Jazz Band will host halfway through.

“Over 350 walkers participated in our last in-person walk in 2019 and we hope those numbers will continue to rise,” Jill Prendergast, fund development manager for the Family Service Association of Redlands, said in a statement. hurry. “This is a wonderful event that helps raise awareness of hunger issues in our community.

Registration is $35 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under, available at redlandsfamilyservice.org. For teams of 10 or more, registration is $30 per adult and $10 for children.

Registration is also available from 7 a.m. on the day of the walk, but to be sure to receive an event t-shirt, participants must register by May 24.

Dogs, bicycles and skateboards are not allowed on the walk.

The Family Service Association of Redlands served more than 4,200 meals to people in need in the last quarter of 2021, according to the press release. In 2021, the nonprofit agency also donated food boxes containing enough food for a week to more than 1,300 families.
