Protest against forced conversion of Hindu family members in Gujarat

Palanpur (Gujarat), September 3 (SocialNews.XYZ) Various Hindu organizations observed an all-out bandh in the town of Deesa to protest against the forced conversion of three members of a Hindu family. They demand that the administration bring back the three members and reunite them with their families, if the administration fails to do so, in the next few days, the Hindus will launch an aggressive protest.

Hindu organizations had called for the bandh, while shopkeepers, APMC shopkeepers, thousands of youths and citizens joined the rally in a show of support. Hindu leader Kailashbhai told local media: “Conversion by the minority community will not be tolerated, we demand that the district administration and the police administration bring back three Hindu family members, if they fail, the minority community will have to face the wrath of the majority community.

Last week, Haresh Solanki of Deesa Taluka attempted suicide in Palanpur, because three of his family members – wife, daughter and son were taken away by the girl’s lover. Later they were forced to convert to Islam. Defendant Sohil and his family did not share the whereabouts of his family members, on the contrary, they demand Rs 25 lakh from Haresh.

Palanpur Police Inspector Jaydev Gosai told IANS that a complaint has been filed against six members, four of whom are still at large. Police are unable to trace the three family members of Complainant Haresh – his wife Chandrika, son Aakash and daughter who had fallen in love with Sohil.
