MOVHD Announces Family Planning Clinics | News, Sports, Jobs


PARKERSBURG — The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department has announced family planning clinics for Pleasants, Roane, Wirt and Wood counties.

Family planning services include pregnancy testing, information for those trying to conceive, medical history, physical, gynecological, breast and testicular examinations, laboratory services, diagnosis and limited treatment of illnesses transmitted diseases, contraceptive supplies, education and counseling and referrals for medical issues and sterilization procedures.

The eligibility conditions are as follows: woman or man of childbearing age; women seeking pregnancy; income at or below 250% of the current federal poverty level and uninsured or underinsured; fees assessed based on gross monthly income and family size in accordance with federal poverty guidelines; other programs available if annual income exceeds income guidelines.

Clinics in counties Pleasants, Wirt and Roane are held once a month at the local health department and require appointments. Wood County clinics are held most Wednesdays and require appointments.

The Pleasants County Family Planning Clinic will be held Sept. 16 at 605 Cherry St. in St. Marys. Appointments can be made by calling 304-684-2461.

The Roane County Family Planning Clinic will be held Sept. 14 at 200 E. Main St., Spencer. Appointments can be made at 304-927-1480.

The Wirt County Family Planning Clinic will be held at 90 Senior Circle in Elizabeth on Tuesday. Appointments can be made by calling 304-275-3131.

Wood County Family Planning Clinics are Wednesdays, September 7, 14, and 28 at 211 Sixth St. in Parkersburg. Appointments can be made by calling 304-485-7374.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department serves Wood, Wirt, Calhoun, Pleasants, Ritchie, and Roane counties. Offices are at 211 Sixth St. in Parkersburg and are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
