FREMONT – On July 14, the Sandusky County Employment and Family Services Department hosted a recognition event in honor of the agency’s staff years of service reaching milestone anniversaries.
Receive the following years of service as follows:
30 years of service: Elaine Franks, Account Clerk 2, Tax Division and Jackie Mowry, Supervisor, Child Support Division.
20 years of service: Lisa Mullholder, 30 Day Family Case Manager, Children’s Services Division.
15 years of service: Davi Anderson, Eligibility Officer 3, Public Assistance Division; Dawn Ohms, SSW4 / QA, Children’s Services Division; Karen Riegel, Supervisor, Tax Division; JILL WAGNER, Supervisor, Public Assistance Division.
Five years of service: Kristi McEwen, Eligibility Officer 3, Public Assistance Division and Chasity Minor, Eligibility Officer 3, Public Assistance Division.

Goodwill hires Michel as Director of Resource Development
SANDUSKY – Crystal Michel has joined the Goodwill team as Head of Resource Development. Crystal graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BA in Liberal Arts Studies and an MA in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University. Michel previously worked with March of Dimes, Kendra’s House and Family and Children First Council in Huron County.
Michel accepted the position saying, âI believe in Goodwill’s mission and I believe in giving back to the community that has given me over the twenty years that I have lived here.
The Sandusky office of Goodwill Industries serves the counties of Ottawa, Sandusky, Erie and Huron.
Firelands orthopedic doctor sees patients in Bellevue
BELLEVUE – Bellevue Hospital recently welcomed the Firelands Physician Group Sandusky Orthopedics to the specialty medical services clinics of the hospital.
Orthopedic surgeons Thomas A. Olexa, MD and Justin Kelley, DO recently joined the medical staff at Bellevue Hospital and began seeing patients in Bellevue through the TBH Specialty Clinic in late June.
âBellevue Hospital provides this clinical space so that members of our community can see the specialists they need near their homes,â said Timothy A. Buit, President and CEO of TBH. âIt is through collaborations with our local and regional health partners such as Firelands Physician Group Sandusky Orthopedics that we are able to offer expanded offerings so that members of our community can stay in our area and not have to travel to large cities for specialized services. â
