Inland Empire’s Family Service Association Honored as California Nonprofit of the Year – San Bernardino Sun

State Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh, R-Yucaipa, recently honored the Family Service Association, which has served the Inland Empire since the 1950s, as the 2022 Nonprofit of the Year for the 23rd District of the California Senate.

“Seeing a need in your community and then actively responding to it says a lot about someone’s character. The founders of FSA did just that,” Ochoa Bogh said in a press release.

“Now, nearly 70 years later, the FSA has become a vital, responsive nonprofit that connects communities in Riverside and San Bernardino counties to vital services. I have the privilege of naming them the 2022 Nonprofit Organization of the Year for Senate District 23,” said Ochoa Bogh.

“This recognition comes at a time when we have worked hard to help our region recover from the pandemic and provide additional support for children, families and seniors in the Inland Empire. The Junior League and local faith-based organizations in the town of Riverside, growing increasingly concerned about local military families in the early 1950s, founded the Family Service Association. Since then, it has grown into one of the Inland Empire’s largest full-service nonprofits.

With services for people ranging from infants to older adults, the Family Service Association has tackled poverty, hunger and health in underserved families and communities.
