Family Service Partners with YMCA of Bucks to Launch Cause Membership Program for Staff

TOWNSHIP OF MIDDLETOWN >> Family Service Association of Bucks County is a leader in providing customers with
of the most successful and innovative health, social and social programs in the region. Now, in close partnership with the YMCA of Bucks County, the agency is proud to announce a “cause membership” that will support the health and well-being of its employees.

The YMCA of Bucks County is currently offering cause membership to those who support a meaningful cause, so they can connect with others with similar interests and put their own well-being first. Family Service is the first nonprofit in the region to sign up for this program, which offers members of eight cause groups a virtual Y Wellness 24/7 platform. Joining the program will unlock thousands of live and on-demand fitness classes.

Also, as a special thank you, the YMCA is offering Family Service participants 10 free passes to visit Bucks County facilities in person.

Julie Dees, Executive Director of Family Service, says this unique program offers many opportunities that she has sought to share with her staff for years. “Our employees work very hard, often under very difficult and stressful circumstances, to ensure the well-being of our neighbors in Bucks County,” says Dees. “By offering this Cause membership, the YMCA has given our employees a healthy place to go on their own terms, to focus on their personal health and wellness goals, while networking with others in their domain.”

The eight cause group categories for membership are: Veterans, Cancer Wellness, Empowering At-Risk Youth, Removing Financial Barriers to Y Programs, Special Needs/Ability, Mental Health, Social Services, and Water Safety . Alongside their cause, members are invited to participate in a connection group: Mindfulness, Nutrition, Senior Connection, Parent Support, Overall Fitness/Wellness, Book Club, Running a 5K and Passion into Action Group.

“We are thrilled to provide this opportunity for Y members and the community to be directly connected to our mission and philanthropic services,” comments Debbie Sontupe, Director of Development for the Bucks County YMCA. “With our eight cause membership choices and connection groups, members can get involved in the causes they care about while connecting with others and looking after their own well-being. ” To learn more about YMCA cause memberships or to register, please visit
