Delhi CM performs Diwali Puja with family members and ministers at Thyagraj Stadium

New Delhi | Jagran Press Office: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal performed Diwali Puja with family members and cabinet ministers at an event held Thursday at Thyagraj Stadium in the nation’s capital. The event was part of the Dilli ki Diwali celebrations where Delhi government ministers were also present. The Diwali puja was broadcast live.

“Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, MP CM Manish Sisodia, his wife Seema Sisodia and other ministers are participating in the Diwali puja event at Thyagraj stadium,” ANI news agency reported.

The Puja Pandal at Thyagraj Stadium was a replica of the Ram temple which is being built in Ayodhya. Earlier, CM Kejriwal also announced that Ayodhya would be included in the Delhi government’s Chief Minister’s pilgrimage plan for the elderly.

The Dilli ki Diwali program was launched in 2019 when the Aam Aadmi party government hosted a large cultural event in Central Park in Connaught Place.

Last year Kejriwal performed the puja at Akshardham temple. Kejriwal had recently visited Ayodhya, Lord Ram’s birthplace, and offered prayers there. He also participated in an “aarti” on the bank of the Saryu River.

The AAP is fighting assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, which are scheduled for early next year.
