Annual Jewish Family Service Turkey Drive

Community Submitted Content

For many, the holidays are a time of celebration. However, some will struggle to put a Thanksgiving meal on the table.

With many residents still experiencing undue hardship, we know that requests for holiday meals from Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties (JFS) will continue to be significant.

Last year JFS was able to provide over 600 meals to families in the community and this year JFS will once again host its annual turkey drive to provide individuals and families with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

There are three convenient ways for community members to contribute to the JFS Thanksgiving Turkey Drive:

Offer a full meal

For $45 you can give a family a holiday meal. This includes a turkey or kosher turkey with all the trimmings.

fill a bag

Each meal provided by JFS comes complete with a bag full of all the trimmings including mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, macaroni and cheese, green beans, corn, gravy and cranberry sauce . If you are able to fill a bag or two, please consider this donation option.

Donate a gift card

A $25 gift card to a grocery store or a monetary donation allows a family to purchase a turkey for the holidays.

Throughout the year, JFS serves as a community base, providing thousands of people in need with hearty food and basic necessities. So far this year, 4,319 people have turned to JFS for nutritional support and the agency plans to distribute more than 100,000 pounds of food in 2022 to those in need.

“At JFS, we hope Thanksgiving is a time when families can come together and enjoy a holiday meal. For many residents of the community, this year continues to be filled with uncertainty, especially due to the We understand that it can be harder to put food on the table, so at JFS we are committed to providing nutritional products to those in need,” said Andrea Steinberg, CEO of JFS.
